Tetsuya (lahir 3 Oktober 1969, di Osaka, Jepang) adalah seorang musisi Jepang, paling dikenal sebagai pemimpin dan bassis dari band rock L'Arc-en-Ciel. Sebelumnya dikenal dengan nama panggung Tetsu, pada tanggal 1 Desember 2009 ia mulai menggunakan nama kelahirannya. Sementara di L'Arc-en-Ciel namanya bergaya sebagai Tetsuya, sedangkan dalam karya solonya itu bergaya sebagai TETSUYA.

Ia juga backing vokal di L'Arc-en-Ciel dan mangaranseman banyak lagu-lagu band, termasuk "Link", "Go Ready Steady", "Finale", "Driver high", "Stay Away", dan "Piesces". Pada tahun 2001 ia memulai karir solo dengan nama TETSU69 (1969 adalah tahun kelahirannya). Pada tanggal 26 November 2006, ia merilis satu lagu di bawah nama tetsu, dan sebagai 10 Desember 2009 ia menggunakan nama kelahirannya. Dari tahun 2005 sampai 2006 ia menjadi support member Creature-creature, solo project morrie, Frontman Dead End. Pada tahun 2007, ia menikah dengan aktris 22 Tahun Ayana Sakai.


"Playing Style"

Tetsuya bermain dengan gaya melodi. Banyak dari Lagu L'Arc-en-Ciel Yang melibatkan dia bermain melodi counter dengan gitaris Ken sambil menahan alur dengan drum. Tetsuya yang menulis dapat dilihat sebagai lebih "poppish" dibandingkan dengan Ken yang memiliki pendekatan yang lebih berat dan kadang-kadang blues. Dia sering menggunakan slide, hammer-ons, dan pull-off dalam permainannya.

Dia bermain dengan Pick sebagian besar lagu, tetapi menggunakan  jari sesekali , seperti di "Winterfalln" dan "Jojoushi". Dalam beberapa lagu ia dapat didengar dengan menggunakan gaya Slap, seperti dalam lagu-lagu L'Arc "the nepenthes" dan "Twinkle, Twinkle '. Tetsuya juga telah menggunakan distorsi, seperti di" Stay Away "dan" Butterfly sleep ".

Tetsuya menggunakan bass 5 string yang sejak 15th L'Anniversarry, tetapi juga sesekali menggunakan 6 string. Seperti dalam "Neo Universe", "Time Goes On", "Get Out from the Shell" di mana ia memainkan melodi. Dalam "Bperfect blue" ia menggunakan gitar bariton 6 string (gitar listrik yang jangkauanya antara bass dan gitar listrik standar). Tetsuya juga menggunakan neck ganda gitar / bass dalam "Trust".

Meskipun Tetsuya didukung oleh ESP Guitars dan memiliki model beberapa signature, ia telah menggunakan bass Zon nya untuk sebagian besar pekerjaan rekaman nya. Tetsuya adalah kolektor bass dan gitar, bass memiliki lebih dari 120 dan lebih dari 20 gitar.

Tetsuya sekarang juga di endoorse Lakland bass dan model signature adalah US Seri 55-69 Tetsuya. Ia terlihat menggunakan variasi dari bass ini di konser terakhir band ini 20th L'Annoversarry dalam bantuan tragedi Gempa Besar Jepang.

L'Arc~en~Ciel - Are You Ready? Tour 2007

L’Arc-en-Ciel has maintained their status as one of Japan’s top rock bands by keeping a good balance between originality and popular trends. Are you ready? 2007 Mata Heart ni Hi wo Tsuketo! was the band’s second nationwide tour after 1998’s Heart ni Hi wo Tsuketo!. Lighting up a musical fire for their fans once more, the band took their tour to 37 venues in cities all over Japan including Kyoto, Hokkaido, Okinawa, Nagasaki, and Fukuoka. This double-DVD combo records L’Arc-en-Ciel’s entire performance at the Okinawa Convention Center. DVD ini berisi salah satu LIVE dari rangkaian TOUR pemanasan mereka sebelum merilis album "KISS" (dulu mereka juga pernah mengadakan TOUR pemanasan semacam ini sebelum merilis album "ark" dan "ray", berjudul "TOUR' 98 HEART ni Hi o Tsukero!", dan TOUR kali ini adalah TOUR ke-2 mereka memakai tema "HEART ni Hi o Tsukero!" namun dengan tambahan kata "Mata" yang berarti "lagi" atau lanjutan dari TOUR pemanasan sebelumnya sehingga bernama "Are you ready? 2007 Mata HEART ni Hi o Tsukero!". Menurut saya, DVD ini adalah salah satu DVD terbaik yang pernah mereka rilis, karena sepanjang LIVE, semua personil terlihat sangat enerjik dan bersemangat (terutama hyde yang terus bergoyang sepanjang penampilan mereka) sehingga sangat nikmat dan tidak membosankan untuk di tonton, meskipun penonton disana banyak yang belum tahu lagu-lagu baru mereka karena album "KISS" belum dirilis saat itu. When I try to think about it, we did a lot of trial and error…. In the beginning, we tried doing it in many ways.... We put them in a basket and shook it to make them fly (smile) It looked awful (smile) They ended up falling down  in the beginning of the song!!  But we've become skilled at it... Does it feel pretty good in the rain? Yes. Well, until here it's been all as planned. Today.... I'll finish it without crying, it seems....

Lately, I've been moved to tears easily. The truth is that when I went out to get here by car today, I thought that everybody would be already here, rather wet.... But you were all waiting wearing raincoats (smile) You were quite cute.

The glowsticks you were using before were also cute and I wanted to keep on looking at you forever. Did you.... enjoy today? Well.... I included a lot of songs which lyrics have dark contents..... But are those all fine for you to listen to here today? When we play much of our early old songs, I get surprised thinking why there are so many lyrics that are so pessimist and dark (smile) Such as Natsu no Yuuutsu, ne, You might wonder "what has happened"? (smile) Yes.

But, as for the final song, we're going to play one that is a little more positive.... Ahhh, to finish, let's have a serious talk..... The entire revenue of the LIVE this time will be redirect as a donation. Unusually, I talked a lot with the members and..... we exchanged ideas and we got to this resolution and I thought it was a pretty good decision and rather expected from Laruku. I thought how great these gracious members are. 

Yeahhhhh..... I'm truly happy for being able to greet such day as this one today. Thank you so much. Even if might feel as impossible, if you don't advance forward, the aspirations start to get hard to visualize. So, I could greet today thinking that I could go forward with you. 15th L'Anniversary Live 2006

Popular J-rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel celebrated their 15th anniversary last year. Formed in 1991, the band has gone through its share of rough patches and personnel changes in the last 15 years, but is today considered one of the most iconic names in contemporary J-rock, having sold over 15 million albums and 30 million singles. The band's musical journey brought them to the Tokyo Dome on November 25 and 26, 2006 for their 15th L'Anniversary Live concerts. L'Arc-en-Ciel ~ 15th L'Anniversary Live records the band's November 25 concert over two DVDs, coming to 191 minutes of L'Arc-en-Ciel video footage.
